About Ysynergy
Ysynergy was established in 2005 when a group of yoga teachers came together to practice, network and learn from each other. These teachers were looking for a haven, a place of their own and a hub for instruction, continued education, support and found that in coming together.
Since then Ysynergy has blossomed. With increased membership and the need to learn to cater to other practices for a healthier lifestyle, Ysynergy is now a synthesis of Yoga, Pilates, Massage, Aromatherapy and Relaxation. It brings the best instructors of various field in the world to share their knowledge and experience with its members and to impart that to those they teach all over the country.
Ysynergy is therefore an association that caters to the needs of the ardent practitioners and teachers. Through a series of workshops and teaching events conducted on a regular basis, teachers of Yoga and Pilates can enhance their teaching skills, learn new ones and expand knowledge. With this they are able to add variety to their teaching methodology, and thereby provide the community with the best of these programs. Master trainers of different programs, are brought in from all over the world predominantly, US, UK and Australia to conduct these workshops. Those who are not teachers already but are interested in learning to teach Yoga and/or Pilates are encouraged to join the workshops and teachers’ intensive courses. Ysynergy is in essence a HUB with many SPOKES with its main hub at Dataran Ara Damansara, Kuala Lumpur. Other hubs are in Penang, Melaka, Johor Bahru and Singapore
Ysynergy yoga is a modern adaptation of traditional ancient yoga practices originating from India. Through the practice of yoga one becomes more aware of the body through the execution of its poses. Ysynergy covers the yoga component in all its varieties such as ashtanga yoga, yoga synergy, vinyasa yoga, anusara yoga, prana yoga, flow yoga, power yoga and more.
Besides these, there is also Pre-natal yoga which teaches how to care for the health of mother and unborn child. This is turn helps in the eventual birthing process. And for the baby there is baby yoga. Both parent and baby get to participate in a safe and gentle session of yoga specially tailored for the infants and the new parent. The parent will be guiding and carrying out all of the baby's yoga movements until the baby is walking. In the more active program for tots, parents are there to support and assist their toddler into yoga poses whenever necessary. Parents also enjoy the time to practice yoga poses, while letting their child imitate and explore yoga on their own. This is a significant bonding time between the infant and the new parent which is a continuation of the bonding established at the point of conception.
Yet another form of yoga that we practice is Partner Yoga. Partner Yoga is a newly emerging practice that expands the traditionally individual science of yoga into the realm of relationships. In traditional yoga practice, a person places his or her body into specific postures, while focusing on breath and body alignment. Designed for two or more people, Partner Yoga postures utilize the forms and principles of individual postures while incorporating the presence of another to deepen the impact of the pose. In principle there is no giver or receiver in a posture thus all partners are fully engaged in ideologies of relationships. YBalance - Pilates is a physical fitness system that was developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates who created a method of total body conditioning that emphasizes proper alignment, centering, concentration, control, precision, breathing, and flowing movement; "The Pilates Principles".The signature of Y Balance is the use of props, such as mini-ball inspired by Leslee Bender of Pilates Coach USA, flexi-band, towels etc to simulate Pilates apparatus, such as Reformers etc to generate the same results. Apart from Pilates there are other body works courses similar to Yamuna Body Rolling which as a combination of stretching and massaging with a ball.
Y Balance provides better alternative approaches to health and fitness using props designed exclusively for its practice. It consists of a series of routines using apparatus and goes far beyond random movement and stretch. You can choose to work specific muscles in detail, to create suppleness in tight areas and optimize the range of motion. The programme help to re-educates muscles and stimulates bone, creating positive, permanent changes in the body.
YTouch - Learn to explore and heal the body through the sensory of touch. Touch conveys the message of love and caring and in many instances has been found to be the healing factor. As such, through the art of massage the masseur is able to bring deep relaxation to body and mind, and to ease pain. One such form is the Trigger Point Massage that works by massaging various clogged trigger points to alleviate such ailments as tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, neck stiffness and the list goes on. Other types of massage programs are also offered by the association.
In Addition, Ysynergy also offers Muscle and Sports Therapy which deals with easing pain and aiding recovery from injuries as a result of sporting accidents. Self therapy is yet another service offered by us where simple props are used to address and assist the treatment of aches and pains. YKids - Many of us have heard the phrase “Children are our Future”. With lifestyles becoming more sedentary, the ever increasing stress in school and the fast food culture, it is important that we learn to teach children the importance of caring for their body in a manner that excites them and activates their imagination. We do this through a program called YKids that helps them develop better body awareness, self-control, flexibility and coordination. In addition, the intellect of the child is also given a workout by encouraging them to explore and appreciate their academic and creative potential.
Dance - The world is in constant motion. Everything in our environment is on the move; nature and technology. Keep in rhythm to the rhythms around us and find harmony in the world within and without. Yoga dance is a series of slow, continuous and graceful movements derived from Yoga postures. Trance dance is more on a spiritual healing level. Its music is a blend of healing sounds and rhythms, which promotes spiritual awakenings, mental clarity, physical stamina and emotional well-being. TaiChi Dance also falls under this component with its graceful dance-like movements that encourages well being of the body and mind. Chakra Dance is yet another form of dance movement which offers similar benefits to yoga. Chakra dancing is about relieving the stresses of modern day living. Apart from the physical benefits gained by dancing vigorously for two hours, chakra dancing (working with our 7 chakras) is said to increase ones awareness of the connection between mind, body and soul. Ultimately, it's about rebalancing these three aspects so they work together in harmony.
YTreats - Rejuvenation and distressing is essential for optimal performance in all aspects of life. We look after our teacher by offering getaways in the form retreats which allows them the luxury of relaxing while giving the space to get in touch with their inner self. But man cannot live on fresh air aloneand so we have a treat for the palate _an interesting array of ‘yogic’ cuisine. So with body, mind and tummy pampered you are energized to face the world again.
